TEACHING INTERESTS
Shih-Che innovatively designed and delivered advanced geospatial data informatics and QGIS curricula for the multidisciplinary module Sustainable Cities Challenges: Resources and Systems at UCL. The pedagogical objective of this curriculum is to equip undergraduate and integrated master’s (BSc/MEng) students with robust spatial data intelligence to analyse complex urban systemic risks, ranging from climate-induced extreme heat events and resource scarcity to rapid urbanisation.
Beyond spatial analytics, Shih-Che exhibited distinct pedagogical leadership as the co-lead for the core PhD Research Skills module across the doctoral training framework at UCL. In this strategic capacity, he mentors doctoral researchers through the foundational phases of research design, guiding them in constructing rigorous methodologies, optimising research milestone project management, and cultivating the critical scholarly skills essential for successful doctoral completion and independent academic trajectories.
