RESEARCH

Energy consumption and corresponding population health outcomes represent two critical pillars in planetary health accounting, especially when quantifying the socio-economic damages of climate change and the co-benefits of mitigation policies. However, a significant spatiotemporal disconnect often obscures the distant impacts of climate change, making it challenging for stakeholders to trace the complex causal chain from initial energy use to indoor and ambient health vulnerabilities, which subsequently delays urgent mitigation investments.

 

By leveraging advanced geospatial analytics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), my research maps and bridges this gap, transforming high-dimensional environmental data into intuitive, high-resolution visual evidence to facilitate effective knowledge mobilisation. By combining quantified parameters of low-carbon energy strategies with their downstream impacts on environmental quality and human epidemiology across heterogeneous climate risk profiles, this framework delivers robust causal inference and innovative risk assessment metrics. Ultimately, these highly actionable visual insights empower policymakers to directly evaluate, optimise, and implement scalable urban decarbonisation strategies for global health.
