BIO

Emiliano Bilotti is Associate Professor in Multifunctional and Sustainable Polymer Composites in the Department of Aeronautics of Imperial College London.

He joined Imperial in 2022 after having held various academic positions within the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London, from Academic Fellow to Lecturer, Senior lecturer and Reader.

Prior to his academic career, he was the Research and Technology Manager of Nanoforce Technology, Ltd., a company involved in industrial type R&D in the area of (nano)materials processing (2010-2011).

In 2009, he completed his doctoral studies at the Materials Department at Queen Mary University of London, on polymer/clay nanocomposites and new environment friendly flame retardant materials - within the frame of the European STRP project “Nanofire” - followed by a postdoc (2009-2010) on smart textiles, within the “Inteltex” FP7 EC project.

Prior to moving to the U.K., he graduated ‘cum laudae’ in Materials Engineering (‘laurea’ degree, equivalent to MEng) from the University of Naples "Federico II" (Italy) in 2004.
