DrAlexandra M. Cardoso Pinto

I am a medical educator committed to inclusive, reflective, and evidence-based teaching across undergraduate medical and global health programmes and hold Fellow status of the Advance Higher Education academy. At Imperial College London, I have designed and delivered near-peer teaching across the MBBS curriculum (Years 1–6), and have served as a peer tutor and examiner for OSCE preparation. My teaching practice is informed by formal pedagogical training, including JASME Training in Teaching, Oxford Medical Teach the Teacher Training, and workshops by the Imperial College Education Unit. 

I have experience in curriculum leadership, including co-designing and delivering a Self-Reflexivity and Positionality curriculum within the School of Public Health, integrating sustainability and social determinants of health into the MBBS primary care curriculum, and redesigning assessments to improve inclusivity. I also supervise undergraduate research projects in medical education and global health.

My educational interests centre on near-peer learning, reflective practice, widening participation, and socially accountable curricula that equip future clinicians to engage ethically and critically with patients, communities, and health systems.
