RESEARCH
My research, including the work of my PhD students, focuses on fundamental problems in array processing and on the development of advanced theoretical tools that establish new foundations for both the analysis and synthesis of array techniques, algorithms, and sensor‑array system architectures. These methodologies have a wide range of potential applications across modern engineering systems.
Early in my career, I recognised the central role that array processing plays in the evolution of next‑generation communication systems. In response, I established the Array Communications research group, which draws its theoretical foundations from Communication Theory and Information Theory, combined with deep expertise in array processing. This interdisciplinary approach enables the rigorous design and analysis of advanced array‑enabled communication systems.
