BIO

 

Dr Sahir Khurshid is an Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Financial Technology and founder of Impromptu, a platform concerned with community participation, local discovery and social impact.

 

His background is in biophysics, crystallography and structural biology. Earlier in his career, he worked on designing novel crystallisation methods for proteins and biomacromolecules of biomedical interest and crystallography-based structure determination; contributing to method development, commercialised tools, patentable technology and cross-disciplinary collaborations across academia and industry.

 

His current work sits at the intersection of social measurement, trusted digital infrastructure and public-benefit innovation. He is interested in how digital and civic systems can support better understanding of participation, connectedness, community activity and wellbeing, while respecting privacy, governance and public trust.

 

Sahir has worked across academia, entrepreneurship, public engagement and translational research, with a recurring focus on turning complex ideas into usable tools, methods and platforms.
