DrShamini Gnani

Her research focuses on public mental health, health inequalities, and health systems, with a particular emphasis on community and primary care. She leads Imperial College London’s public mental health work as part of the NIHR School for Public Health Research and previously held a leadership role with the NIHR Clinical Research Network in North West London as health services research lead. She currently is co-leading specialty the mental health initiative as part of the research the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration in North West London.

She co-developed a distance learning Master’s in Public Health with the Open University of Mauritius and continued to work with them on the programme until December 2024. Her international collaborations include Mon Prothom | Mind First, a UK-Bangladesh partnership established in 2020 to strengthen mental health care and public mental health in Bangladesh.
