TEACHING INTERESTS
Dr Manousou is an internationally recognised educator in hepatology and metabolic liver disease, with a strong commitment to research-led and translational teaching. At Imperial College London, she contributes regularly to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervises four BSc students each year, alongside 2-4 PhD students, many of whom have progressed to academic and clinical careers.
She co-organised the EASL Basic School of Hepatology on Microbiome in Chronic Liver Disease (2023) and the 1st and 2nd Summer Schools on Microbiome in Health and Disease, delivered jointly between Imperial College London and the University of Ioannina.
Dr Manousou secured €1.5 million in competitive funding to establish a joint MSc in Microbiome Science, due to be launched shortly. She is a frequent invited speaker at major international educational meetings.
