RESEARCH
Structural studies on DNA binding proteins, viral proteins (Herpes, HIV, SARS-CoV-2), Type II DNA topoisomerases (from S. pneumoniae and other human pathogens) and their DNA and drug-DNA complexes. Novel X-ray crystallographic techniques involving synchrotron radiation. The application of new crystallization techniques to macromolecular systems in order to achieve very high resolution. Application of very High Field NMR to the study of DNA conformation and DNA-DNA binding protein structures in solution. Drug QM calculations. The application of cryoEM to DNA topoisomerase-DNA-drug complexes
