BIO

I am a PhD Researcher in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London and a Registered Architect with over 15 years of experience in the built environment.

My research focuses on indoor air quality, healthy buildings and sustainable built environments, with a particular emphasis on healthcare facilities in sub-Saharan Africa. My doctoral work investigates the effectiveness of evidence-based interventions to improve Indoor Air Quality in healthcare settings in Nairobi, drawing on engineering, environmental science, architecture and behavioural science.

I have developed strong expertise in air quality monitoring and mixed-methods research, applying both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to analyse building performance and behavioural factors, and to inform evidence-based solutions and operational strategies.

Alongside my doctoral studies, I bring professional experience in sustainable building design and project delivery, including the design and supervision of healthcare facilities that have improved access to essential services in underserved communities.

I have also contributed to architectural education for over a decade through teaching roles at the University of Nairobi and the Technical University of Kenya, with a focus on environmental design and performance-driven architecture.

My research aims to advance healthier and more sustainable indoor environments through interdisciplinary, evidence-based approaches that integrate research, practice and policy.
