Dr. José Flauzino is a Research Associate in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, working in Prof. Firat Güder’s group. His research bridges electrochemistry, nanomaterials, and molecular biotechnology to develop self-powered, wireless diagnostic platforms for health, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Trained as a chemical and biomolecular engineer, he has contributed to 20 peer-reviewed publications, 13 patents, and multiple international collaborations across Europe, Africa, and South America. His work, supported by the Gates Foundation and UK Research and Innovation, focuses on creating scalable, sustainable biosensing technologies capable of transforming diagnostics in low-resource settings.
