BIO
My research focuses on emerging infectious diseases and on the development of mathematical models to characterise their epidemiology, dynamics and inform the optimal implementation of control strategies using an evidence-based and data-driven approach.
My models typically integrate data streams from multiple sources and aim to reconstruct the population- and individual-level infection risk and impact of interventions, better understand the pathways of observed within-host viral kinetics and the complex interactions between viral exposure and immunity responses following natural infection and vaccination. I also have an interest in better understanding how climate and climate change affects arbovirus transmission dynamics in endemic and epidemic settings.
I currently hold a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship funded by Wellcome Trust to better understand the spatiotemporal dynamics of arboviruses and assess the potential impact of vaccination and Wolbachia on dengue transmission.
See the Research section for a description of current and recent projects and their impact.
