TEACHING INTERESTS
I am the Director of Post Graduate Studies at the School of Public Health, and I contribute to post graduate teaching through PhD student supervision and as assessor and examiner of PhD students at Imperial and externally. I have been the primary supervisor of two PhD students who graduated in 2024 and I am currently supervising six PhD students, three of whom are now in their final year.
I teach in several courses offered by the School of Public Health. I develop teaching material and deliver lectures and practical computer-based demonstrations for the BSc in Global Health, MSc in Epidemiology, MRes in Epidemiology, Evolution Control of Infectious Diseases and Short Course in Infectious Disease Modelling organised by the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology. From 2019, I have been leading and teaching the Infectious Disease Modelling Module of the Master in Public Health, which has been attracting an increasing number of students each year. During 2021-2025, I have co-led the Outbreaks module of the MSc in Epidemiology. I and my team also have experience in developing and delivering tailored modelling workshops for public health institutions globally.
I am committed to supporting the next generation of scientists and provide pastoral support both informally and formally, through my mentorship activity as part of the Faculty of Medicine Mentoring Scheme and as the Postdoc and Fellows Champion for the School of Public Health.
Current and prospective PhD students, Postdocs and Fellows are welcome to contact me to discuss potential projects, funding opportunities, mock interviews and career development. Suggestions on additional opportunities that I and the School of Public Health can provide to further support our students are very welcome. Please get in touch!
