DrGeorge Richenberg

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology in the Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research Unit at Imperial College London, working in Professor Marc Gunter’s group within the School of Public Health. My research leverages human genetic and multi-omic data to investigate the biological mechanisms underlying cancer risk, with a primary focus on identifying actionable drug targets for cancer prevention.

Prior to joining Imperial, I completed my PhD at the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (MRC IEU), University of Bristol, where I used large-scale germline, multi-omic and epidemiological datasets to investigate how common exposures and cancer risk factors influence tumour molecular mechanisms, with the aim of identifying new opportunities for cancer prevention.

My current research builds on this work by integrating human genetic, molecular and epidemiological data to improve our understanding of cancer biology and prioritise druggable targets for cancer prevention.
