ProfessorFrancesco D'Aiuto

Francesco has extensive experience in postgraduate education, academic leadership and research supervision, with a particular interest in connecting scientific knowledge with clinical practice.

At UCL Eastman Dental Institute, he led postgraduate programmes in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, overseeing curriculum development, teaching, assessment and accreditation. He also contributed to expanding the educational portfolio through new programmes and blended-learning approaches, while mentoring clinical trainees and postgraduate researchers.

His teaching interests extend beyond specialist dentistry to oral–systemic health, inflammation and chronic disease, clinical research methodology, evidence-based medicine and prevention.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Francesco also holds a Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from UCL. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary learning that encourages students to think critically, connect different fields of knowledge and apply scientific evidence to real-world healthcare challenges.
