ProfessorFrancesco D'Aiuto

Francesco is Visiting Professor in the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction at Imperial College London and Honorary Professor at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He also holds a Distinguished Professorship at the University of Eastern Finland and a Visiting Professorship at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

Previously Professor and Head of Periodontology at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, Francesco has over two decades of experience in clinical and translational research, academic leadership and postgraduate education.

His research has contributed to understanding the connections between oral health, chronic inflammation and systemic diseases, particularly cardiovascular and metabolic conditions. Through clinical trials, epidemiological studies and international collaborations, he has helped advance recognition of oral health as an important component of overall health and disease prevention.

Francesco is passionate about connecting disciplines and bringing together researchers, clinicians and industry partners to translate scientific discoveries into better patient care and more integrated approaches to healthcare.
