RESEARCH

My current research interest focusses on the contribution of the perivascular innervation to vascular disease, This aspect has long been overlooked in favour of traditional vascular-autonomous mechanisms of pathogenesis but is now emerging as an important driver of atherosclerosis. Thus, I aim at characterising the neuro-vascular crosstalk occurring in the perivascular niche during atherogenesis leveraging my neuroscientist and cardiovascular expertise.
