BIO

Dr. Amrit Lota is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton Hospital and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He graduated from the University of Oxford in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, earning first-class honours for his intercalated degree in cardiovascular science. Dr. Lota was also the recipient of several academic prizes and scholarships during his medical education.

He completed his cardiology training in London, with placements at renowned institutions such as the Royal Brompton, Harefield, Barts, and Hammersmith Hospitals, before further refining his expertise at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States.

In 2020, Dr. Lota was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London, funded by the British Heart Foundation. His research focused on advanced cardiac imaging and clinical genetics to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of myocarditis and cardiomyopathy. This pioneering work has earned him multiple Young Investigator Awards and resulted in several high-impact publications.
