DrArvind Kumar Gupta

Dr Arvind Kumar Gupta is a Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in bio-inspired robotics, embedded systems, and edge intelligence. He completed his M.S. by Research and Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, focusing on machine learning, signal processing, and IoT.

Prior to joining Imperial College London, he served as a Research Fellow in Prof. Hirotaka Sato’s group at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where he engineered micro-electronic control systems and hardware architectures for insect-computer hybrid robots. Following this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Colorado Boulder's Animal-Inspired Motion and Robotics Lab, developing bio-inspired platforms and wearable electronics.

His work spans the full spectrum of hardware-software co-design from high-voltage actuators, sensor fusion, and localization algorithms to real-time firmware development (RTOS) and edge AI implementation. Currently, in Dr. Kaushik Jayaram's lab, he leads the electrical, electronics, and sensing development, building autonomous, bio-inspired robotic platforms and insect-computer hybrid systems.
