DrArvind Kumar Gupta

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in bio-inspired robotics, embedded systems, and edge intelligence. I completed my M.S. by Research and Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, focusing on machine learning, signal processing, and IoT.

Prior to joining Imperial College London, I served as a Research Fellow in Prof. Hirotaka Sato’s group at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where I engineered micro-electronic control systems and hardware architectures for insect-computer hybrid robots. Following this, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Colorado Boulder's Animal-Inspired Motion and Robotics Lab, developing bio-inspired platforms and wearable electronics.

My work spans the full spectrum of hardware-software co-design from high-voltage actuators, sensor fusion, and localization algorithms to real-time firmware development (FreeRTOS) and edge AI implementation. Currently, in Dr. Kaushik Jayaram's lab, I lead the electrical, electronics, and sensing development, building autonomous, bio-inspired robotic platforms and insect-computer hybrid systems.
