Anastasios Apostolos is a Junior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at the Harefield Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and an Honorary Teaching Fellow at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. He holds a Medical Degree from the University of Patras, a Master of Science in Interventional Cardiology (with distinction) and a PhD in Cardiology from the Medical School of the University of Athens. He is currently pursuing a second MSc in Arterial Hypertension and Related Cardiovascular-Kidney Diseases. His clinical and research career spans interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and cardiovascular prevention, with particular expertise in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, and coronary physiology and imaging. He has authored over 135 PubMed-indexed publications in leading journals including The Lancet, JACC Cardiovascular Interventions, Circulation, the European Heart Journal, and the Journal of the American Heart Association, alongside three book chapters. He serves as Associate Commissioning Editor for Heart (BMJ) and Deputy Editor for the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, and has served as peer reviewer for over 70 international journals including Nature Communications, the European Heart Journal, and JACC. He was the Primary Investigator of the INSPIRE randomised trial (NCT04713683) and has presented his work at major international meetings including ESC, EuroPCR, TCT, ACC, CRT, and London Valves, earning multiple best abstract awards and travel grants.
