BIO

Zhihang is a PhD student at the Brahmal Vasudevan Institute of Sustainable Aviation, housed under the Department of Aeronautics. He is co-supervised by Dr. Sebastian Eastham (Aeronautics), Prof. George Papadakis (Aeronautics) and Dr. Ed Gyrspeerdt (Physics), and is also a member of the Aerospace Environmental Impacts Simulation (AEIS) Group.

Zhihang's research focus is on the modelling and observation of aircraft contrails through computational means. In particular, he is looking into developing surrogate models to aid the characterisation and propagation of uncertainties in contrail modelling processes.

Zhihang graduated with an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2022. Prior to starting his PhD, he spent 2.5 years in Singapore specialising in consultancy services for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and code development.
