BIO
Dr Zalike Keskin Erdogan is a postdoctoral research associate in Polizzi’s lab in the department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. She was awarded a PhD degree from University College London in 2022. She has broad experience in multiple disciplines including materials science, biomaterials, cell biology and tissue engineering. Her current research in the college focuses on the utilisation of biomaterials and hydrogels for 3D cell cultures and cell encapsulation, and the functionalisation of whole-cell biosensors via hydrogels and microfluidics platforms. Currently, funded by EPSRC - Adventurous Manufacturing, she is developing a cell encapsulation platform to enable animal cells - whole-cell biosensor cocultures to monitor and allow the sensing of a broader array of industrially relevant analytes and metabolites from hosts beyond mammalian cell factories.
