RESEARCH

My research focuses on reproductive immunology, glycobiology, and molecular mechanisms underlying pregnancy-related disorders. I am particularly interested in understanding how protein N-glycosylation regulates trophoblast function, immune tolerance at the maternal–fetal interface, and interactions between trophoblasts and maternal immune cells. My work integrates glycobiology, cell biology, and immunology to investigate how glycan remodeling influences placental development and pregnancy outcomes.

More recently, my research has expanded to the molecular regulation of uterine contractility and preterm birth. I investigate how intracellular cAMP signalling and the PKA pathway regulate the function of primary human myometrial cells, with the aim of identifying novel therapeutic strategies to delay the onset of labour and reduce the incidence of preterm birth.
