BIO
Zakariah is a third-year PhD student in Public Health. Zakariah's thesis assesses the association between socioeconomic inequalities (Index of Multiple Deprivation) and asthma outcomes (diagnosis, management and health outcomes) in England's asthma population. Using various sources of routinely collected electronic healthcare record data, factors affecting and interacting with the association will be determined and explored across the pathway. Broadly, Zakariah is interested in addressing inequalities in non-communicable diseases using quantitative research methods. This work is supervised by Professor Jennifer Quint, with Dr Hannah Whittaker and Dr Costantinos Kallis as secondary and tertiary supervisors, respectively.
