MrYusril Sulaiman

Muhammad Yusril Sulaiman is a PhD student in the Structural Biomechanics Research Group at Imperial College London, under the co-supervision of Dr. Andrew T. M. Phillips and Dr. Ulrich Hansen (Mechanical Engineering). His doctoral research focuses on developing a computational framework for mesoscale modelling of the femur bone and its adaptive behaviour to physiological activities. This framework is aimed to be applicable to in silico studies of complex bone–implant interactions and growth plate mechanics.

Prior to starting his PhD, he worked as a Simulation Consultant, where he utilized FEA and CFD to solve various complex engineering problems and developed numerical tools to enhance commercial FEA software capabilities and improve productivity. He also has over three years of experience as a research assistant, during which he developed a computational framework to simulate early bone healing in mandibular reconstruction cases, designed 3D-printed patient-specific surgical tools for jaw surgery, and assisted in various biomechanics-related research activities.
