BIO
Yaa S. A. Kwateng has a BSc. First Class Honours and MPhil in Chemical Engineering, with which she provided extensive technical leadership to a global manufacturing supply chain. During her MBA in Energy, Environment and Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, Yaa refined her start-up idea towards prosumer-powered low carbon microgrids.
This motivated her PhD research aim of the market design of a blockchain-enabled peer-to-peer low carbon microgrid, gaining a studentship with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Power Networks and Smart Grids.
With a distinct lens on grid-edge-centric market design, she aims to facilitate industrial adoption of distributed market models towards transactive energy maturity. She has collaborated with industry to test her hypotheses and computational models using real network data.
