Yusuf Ozkan is Research Outputs Analyst in the Scholarly Communications at the Library Services.
He is responsible for creating and managing various Power BI dashboards about Imperial's research outcomes. The dashboards aim to increase the visibility of research publications for internal audience and quality of strategic information about research outcomes.
He provides support about ORCID, bibliometrics, alternative metrics and their responsible use. Yusuf is working with the Open Research Manager to develop the bibliometrics service in the context of open research and to create a better research culture at Imperial. Imperial is committed to ensuring that the procedures for assessing the achievements of all staff are fair, transparent, and robust. The bibliometrics service provided at Imperial aims to define available metrics and indicators, their strengths and weaknesses, and their responsible use cases.
Yusuf also provides support about and is the main point of contact for bibliometrics and research analytics tools. Imperial has subscribed to different research analytics tools. These tools are available to all Imperial researchers, staff, and students. Yusuf promotes the tools, how to access/use their web applications, and their responsible use that would align with Imperial's commitments such as the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) https://sfdora.org/.
Yusuf has worked at Imperial since 2019 and started working at the Open Access Team, moving to his current position in September 2023.
