DrFelix Feng

Felix (Yuxiang) Feng is a Research Fellow and Manager of the Intelligent Infrastructure and Transport Systems Laboratory (IITS) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on improving the safety, efficiency and public acceptance of autonomous vehicles. In particular, he develops highly configurable models of automotive systems to control host-vehicle motion and capture interactions with surrounding road users.

Before joining Imperial, Felix completed a PhD at the The Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) at the University of Bath. He also holds an MSc in Mechatronics from the University of Bath and a BEng in Mechatronics from Tongji University.

His doctoral research centred on personalised driver modelling to understand how different driving styles influence fuel consumption. Using real-world driving data and machine learning techniques, he calibrated driver models that demonstrated satisfactory performance when evaluated in a procedure anchored to the standard WLTC drive cycle test.
