RESEARCH

Research Interests
Our research focuses on identifying immune correlates of protection against emerging infectious diseases (EIDs), with an emphasis on HIV, SARS/CoV-19, and influenza A in humans. We aim to define the types of immune responses that confer protective immunity and translate this knowledge into the development of potent immunotherapies for cancer and effective vaccines. Our technological approaches include the generation of human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and T cell-based therapies, such as universal CAR-T cells, TCR-T cells, and T cell engagers. Given that immune correlates of protection are multi-factorial in nature, the spectrum of our research covers both innate and adaptive immune responses at the molecular, cellular and population levels.
