BIO

Tom is a postdoctoral research associate in the lab of Prof Darius Armstrong -James. Tom holds a PhD in fungal immunology from Imperial in which he carried out work characterising murine models of allergic fungal airway disease using multi-omic approaches. Following his PhD he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Harefield Hospital implementing multi-omic approaches for mechanistic dissection and biomarker discovery in lung transplant recipients with chronic allograft dysfunction (CLAD). He returned to Imperial to work on the CF Trust/LifeArc funded PRECISION study led by Prof Jane Davies and Prof Darius Armstrong-James, in which he is implementing multi-omic approaches for characterising polymicrobial infections in people with cystic fibrosis. In addition to his mult-omic work, he holds a continued interest in how the fungi we inhale everyday impact the immunological response to future respiratory insults.
