BIO
I’m a mathematical modeller in the malaria modelling group working to develop Imperial College London’s individual-based malaria transmission model (malariasimulation) to enable users to simulate novel tools and emerging threats in malaria control. My current focus is on building the capacity to simulate the effects of resistance to frontline antimalarial drugs on malaria transmission. This will enable us to update our estimates of how resistance is likely to impact efforts to curb malaria given contemporary levels of resistance and under future scenarios of resistance spread.
My background is in mathematical ecology and previously my work has focused on using population dynamic and genetics models to understand how genetic control tools could enhance insect pest and insecticide resistance management in agricultural and public health settings.
