Immune-mediated kidney disease, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and vasculitis
My research focuses on monocyte/macrophage driven kidney inflammation in response to immune complex deposition in the glomerulus. By using disease genetics and a range of advanced molecular biology techniques in primary human macrophages, I aim to elucidate the molecular and cellular pathways involved in macrophage-driven inflammation in SLE and identify tractable targets for macrophage-directed therapies to improve outcomes for patients.
