DrTayana Soukup

I am a Chartered Psychologist, Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, Fellow in Human Factors (Artificial Intelligence) at Imperial College London, and an elected board co-director for the International Network for Science of Team Science (INSciTS). Holding two BPS-accredited degrees in Psychology, and a NIHR-funded PhD in Clinical Medicine Research focused on the functioning of cancer Multidisciplinary Teams (aka MDTs, tumor boards), I have also spent 6 years as an implementation scientist at King’s College London. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I teach postgraduate and undergraduate programmes and supervise PhDs at both King's and Imperial College London.

My interdisciplinary expertise spans organizational, implementation, behavioural, human factors, and team sciences, equipping me to effectively address complex healthcare challenges. Among my contributions is the design of the first-of-its-kind MeDiC tool, a measure for assessing case discussion complexity in cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, aimed at improving workflow and streamlining processes. I also co-directed a number of national training and quality improvement programmes for cancer MDTs, landmark initiatives in knowledge translation and dissemination in this field.

My focus is on evidence-based methodologies and future-forward strategies that intersect implementation science, innovative technology, AI and human factors, with a special focus on complex decision-making and team science. This approach is particularly relevant given the increasing demographic and fiscal challenges, as well as the drive toward integrated, team-based healthcare.
