DrTom Bland

I am a Research Software Engineer in the central Research Computing Services Group at Imperial.

I have a research background in life sciences, having completed my PhD at the Francis Crick Institute, where I applied computational modelling, machine learning and bioinformatics to study the biophysical processes underlying intra-cellular organization - a key factor in development, health and disease.

Since joining Imperial as a Research Software Engineer, I have contributed to a range of projects spanning scientific computing and simulation, high-performance computing, applied machine learning, and web application development.

I am currently working on the MUSE software project, an energy systems model designed to support solutions to climate change.
