Dr. Sara Bonvini is an Academic Visitor in the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and a team leader in Early Respiratory and Immunology at AstraZeneca.
Sara is a trained pharmacologist, carrying out her PhD in the Respiratory Pharmacology group investigating the role of ion channels in reflex events such as cough and bronchospasm, key unmet needs within chronic lung diseases such as asthma, COPD and IPF. Her current research involves investigating mechanisms of enhanced reflex responses in airway disease with the aim of developing novel therapies
Sara has a substantial publication record in high impact peer reviewed journals and has supervised a number of BSc, Masters and PhD students within the NHLI.
