Early diagnosis of COPD: Dr Ananth undertakes research in this area in the COPD section of the National Heart and Lung Institute. He has published a review on this topic in the European Respiratory Journal.
Clinical trials: Dr Ananth is a co-chair of a European Respiratory Society Task Force developing a core outcome set for COPD trials. He has published meta-analyses on clinical trial methodology in airways disease. He is a member of the European Respiratory Society Clinical Practice Guidelines Methodology Network.
Improving patient care: Dr Ananth has been a member of various guideline and clinical statement committees, including the British Thoracic Society Clinical Statement on the management of tobacco dependency in hospital inpatients, published in Thorax.
