Dr. Shamas Tabraiz, a distinguished Environmental Engineer specializing in molecular microbiology, earned his Ph.D. from Newcastle University, UK. His research focuses on maximizing microbial potential for advanced sustainable biological wastewater treatment. His goal is to develop innovative, eco-efficient processes with a minimal footprint, reducing N2O emissions, effectively removing pollutants, and enabling resource recovery.
With a rich background in academia and industry, including roles at Imperial College London, Canterbury Christ Church University, and the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, Shamas excels in mentoring students. He has five years of teaching experience as a lecturer and assistant professor at the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. Acknowledged for outstanding contributions, Shamas has published numerous research articles, review articles and book chapters. As a registered engineer and associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he continues to advance environmental engineering through research, publications, teaching and active participation in professional organizations.
