BIO

Sofia Palazzo Corner is a visiting researcher at the Centre for Environmental Policy, working on projects related to the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), AI co-scientists, tipping points, expert assessment, the zero emissions commitment, and climate litigation.

 

Sofia completed her PhD in Climate Science at Imperial College London, under the supervision of Professor Joeri Rogelj (Imperial College) and Dr Chris Jones (UK Met Office). Her research focused on deep uncertainty in 21st century climate change, including global warming after net zero, Earth system extremes and the use of expert assessment as climate data.

Sofia holds a first class undergraduate masters degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Nottingham, and a postgraduate masters in Part III Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. She has a professional background in management consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, energy and environment research at Chatham House, and quantitative risk analysis at Funding Circle.
