RESEARCH

By background, Szymon is a psychologist and a neuroscientist, positioned in the fields of cyberpsychology and social psychology. He is broadly interested in the impact of Internet-enabled technologies on human behaviour and wellbeing. He specialises in video game psychology - how video games influence human behaviour. In the past, he was involved in affective (relationship with aggression, evocation of emotions in virtual reality games) and clinical projects (using a mobile game for Alzheimer's, using a virtual reality intervention for hoarding disorder). His current focus is on multidimensional wellbeing - how video games influence mental health, physical health, social functioning and external life circumstances of their players, and how gameplay interacts with these components, leading to video game addiction.
