TEACHING INTERESTS

I am involved in teaching on microscopy in MATE50005 Materials Characterisation (Year 2), delivering lectures as well as workshops and computer-based practicals on image analysis. I am also involved in lab-based practicals on titration for MATE40005 Materials Processing 1 (Year 1), and I supervise literature review projects for year 3 students (MATE60004).

 

I also supervise research projects for MEng and MSc students, including lab-based projects (e.g. on metal–organic frameworks, materials for proton exchange membranes) as well as data-led projects (e.g. on artificial intelligence and machine learning for electron microscopy data processing) and modelling projects (e.g. on three-dimensional imaging, simulating defect structures).

 

In the last several years, I have also been involved in UK and international training schools on electron microscopy (Royal Microscopical Society schools, University of Leeds as well as Quantitative Electron Microscopy, CNRS, France) and on nano-optics with electron beams (eBEAM)
