BIO
Dr. Soodeh Kalaie is a researcher in the Computational Cardiac Imaging group at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences, Imperial College London, where her work focuses on applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to unravel the complex mechanisms underlying common cardiovascular diseases, such as cardiomyopathy. By integrating multimodal data—including medical images, genetic information, and environmental risk factors—she aims to enhance our understanding of cardiovascular health and disease, predict patient outcomes, identify genetic risk factors, and uncover potential therapeutic targets.
Dr. Kalaie collaborates closely with the BioMedIA group in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London, where she contributes to advancing imaging methodologies in cardiovascular health. She also works with industry partners to accelerate progress in drug discovery through automated genotype-phenotype modelling.
Her research is supported by the Medical Research Council, British Heart Foundation.
