RESEARCH

My research interests include low-power analog and mixed-signal instrumentation circuit design for electrochemical biosensors, as well as the monolithic integration of biosensor arrays and microelectronics on CMOS platforms.

We apply our fundamental sensor and circuit technologies to develop integrated wireless microsystems capable of monitoring biomolecules (e.g., hormones such as cortisol) in biofluids (e.g., saliva) at the point of care. For example, we have developed a novel intraoral wearable biosensor for continuous salivary analysis for oral and general health monitoring, in collaboration with the Eastman Dental Institute.

We also investigate the potential of salivary biomarkers for health assessment. For instance, we have studied cortisol variations as a potential proxy measure of acute pain, in collaboration with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
