MsStefanie Edler-Wollstein

Stefanie is a Consultant and Academic Leadership Coach at Imperial’s Early Career Researcher Institute (ECRI). With extensive experience in Higher Education in the UK and internationally, she designs and delivers impactful professional development programmes, helping early career researchers build the skills, confidence and leadership capability to thrive in their chosen paths.

Stefanie is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a qualified Senior and Executive Coach and Mentor (ILM Level 7), and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Assoc CIPD). She is also an accredited Saville Wave 360 Feedback Practitioner, a Registered BPS Test User (Occupational Personality and Ability), and an accredited DiSC trainer. Drawing on this strong foundation in coaching, psychometrics and behavioural insight, she specialises in collaborative research leadership, self-awareness, and fostering a positive, inclusive research culture.

Leading on Imperial’s interdisciplinary leadership development programme for independent Research Fellows, Stefanie offers tailored coaching and development support to individuals and groups across all career stages. As part of Imperial’s collaboration with The Royal Society, she regularly delivers sessions on leadership style, team dynamics and effective communication. She also contributes to the Research Vision programme for Schmidt Sciences, supporting AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellows.

Stefanie has been appointed as assessor for the Daphne Jackson Trust, a leading charity that supports Fellows returning to research after a career break for family, caring or health reasons, helping them update their knowledge, develop new skills and regain the confidence to resume their careers.

Internationally, Stefanie promotes the career interests of early career researchers as a member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU) Careers of Researchers & HR Policy Group. Her work in this space spans career structures, recruitment and progression, professional development, employability, and career destinations beyond academia.
