RESEARCH
Research Interests
The common nominator of my research interests is probably light. While I worked on a lot of different topics I always used spectroscopic techniques to answer biological questions.
I studied Biochemistry in Bielefeld, Germany and afterwards did my PhD in Biophysics at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. During my PhD I worked in the group of Prof. Joachim Heberle and focused on the investigation of light-activated protein using Fourier-Transform Infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
After my PhD I moved to London to work with Prof. Katalin Török at St. George's University of London where I developed fast fluorescence indicators for calcium and glutamate for neuronal imaging.
Then I relocated to Prague in Czech Republic to work along side Dr. Marek Cebecauer understanding organisation of CD4 receptors on the surface of T-cells using super resolution spectroscopy.
