TEACHING INTERESTS
Sebastian is a Fellow of AdvanceHE (FHEA) and Head of Programme of the MSc Design Engineering.
He regularly teaches two modules:
- Foundational Transdisciplinary Research Methods, a masters-level introduction to qualitative design research taught across the MSc and MRes Design Engineering andMSc Design with Behaviour Science, and
- Transformational Play, a masters-level introduction to game design and making games with a serious purpose, delivered across the MSc, MRes, and MEng Design Engineering as well as MSc Design with Behaviour Science.
He supervises masters theses and PhDs in the School and regularly delivers PhD seminars like "How to write a good CHI Paper", with PhD students in the IGGI CDT, CCMI CDT, and LISS DTP. He was interim director and training lead (2017-2022) of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence (IGGI).
He previously developed, led, and taught programmes and modules on UX design, game design, and motivational design at the Universities of York, Northeastern University, and Rochester Institute of Technology.
