DrSondes Ben Aissa

Dr Sondes Ben Aissa is currently a research associate in the Cass group at the Chemistry Department of Imperial College. Her research interests are in the field of analytical biochemistry in the design of new biosensing devices for the detection of relevant molecules and biomarkers. She trained initially as a chemical engineer at the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology (Tunisia). She obtained her co-supervised PhD degree from the University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia) and the University of Perpignan (France) in 2020 after being awarded an ERASMUS scholarship. Dr Ben Aissa is particularly expert in handling DNA aptamers from in-silico modelling to the integration into electrochemical platforms for different applications, including healthcare diagnostics and environmental applications.
