BIO

Dr Shayan Bahadori is a Research Associate specialising in Applied Health Services Research and Diagnostic Technologies. He boasts a diverse educational background, having earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, a Master's degree in Bionanotechnology, and a PhD in Digital Health and Rehabilitation.

Dr Bahadori's extensive body of work primarily employs a mixed-method research approach to investigate pivotal aspects pertaining to the implementation and utilisation of medical technologies.

Dr Bahadori is a part of the Cancer Research UK Convergence Science Centre, a collaborative hub that unites prominent experts in engineering, physical sciences, life sciences, and medicine to pioneer creative solutions for tackling cancer-related challenges. Furthermore, he is a member of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in In Vitro Diagnostics, a prestigious institution dedicated to generating compelling evidence in support of the development and translation of diagnostic tests.

Prior to his tenure at Imperial College London, Dr Bahadori was associated with the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Bournemouth University. His research interests encompassed the assessment of outcomes associated with Robotic Hip Replacement Surgery, the utilisation of wearables for monitoring patients following orthopaedic surgery, and the evaluation of virtual surgical simulators. His doctoral research at Bournemouth University centred around Wearables, Gait Analysis, and Smart Rehabilitation interventions employing commercial activity trackers.
