Dr. Stefano Angioletti-Uberti obtained his PhD in Materials Science at Imperial College London in 2010, working with Prof Mike Finnis, FRS, and Prof Peter Lee on modelling of solid-liquid interfaces. He then moved to the University of Cambridge in the group of Prof. Daan Frenkel, shifting his research to Soft Matter and Nanobiotechnology. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Angioletti-Uberti had a prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship, working in Berlin with Prof. Joachim Dzubiella and Prof. Matthias Ballauff. After a brief stint as a PI at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, he moved back to Imperial, where he is now Associate Professor in Computational Bionanotechnology.

His group, the SoftNanoLab, works in the use of AI and computational methods for a range of problems at the frontier of bionanotechnology, from the design of new CARs for cellular therapy to methods to design new enzymes, as well as delivery systems with super-selective targeting behaviour. In 2023, Dr Angioletti-Uberti co-founded Nanograb, where he currently acts as Chief Scientist, to translate his research in multivalent selectivity for the design of targeted gene-delivery vectors. Since 2024, he is also Chief Scientist at Aminoanalytica, a company dedicated to developing AI-agents for the rapid detection and response to future pandemics and bio-threats.
