RESEARCH
My research explores how lived experiences shape health. I investigate how the exposome, the totality of exposures encountered throughout the life-course, affects biology and contributes to chronic disease development. Utilising multi-omics technologies my research aims to uncover the biological embodiment of exposure. I am hereby particularly interested in examining adaptive molecular responses to social determinants of health in order to mitigate health inequities.
My PhD thesis centers on investigating variations in disease susceptibility and interdependencies in exposure-disease relationships, with an emphasis on heterogeneity in cardiovascular disease risk, in an effort to inform targeted, equitable public health policies and prevention strategies. My work integrates causal inference, mediation analysis and advanced variable selection approaches to identify and estimate consistent, informative relationships in complex, large-scale observational studies.
